Colleen arrived at the fort to find it in shambles. Boards and branches were strewn about, she could hear the boys laughing in the distance.

PAGE 2

A feeling of anger came over colleen as she thought about William and Eric, her body was tense, and her heart pounded in her chest. She thought to herself "They must be building another fort  together, without me."

PAGE 3

Just then Colleen heard something rustling around in the fallen playhouse. She approached cautiously and spotted something furry under the debris.

PAGE 4

She lifted the board and discovered a beautiful white and gold creature, with a long furry mane and beautiful black eyes.

PAGE 5

She quickly scooped it up and cuddled him tight. It made a small growling noise GRUDGE... GRUDGE...

PAGE 6

Colleen skipped along with her new friend, holding him tight in her arms she did not dare let him go. GRUDGE... GRUDGE... said the little creature. "Is that your name", she asked. Well then GRUDGE it is.

PAGE 7

Just then she heard a stick crack near her. She looked up it was William and Eric. "What is that you have there Colleen?" William asked curiously.

PAGE 8

Collen turned her back and said "NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS."

PAGE 9

William was taken back and said "I just want to see, where did you find it" Colleen turned and yelled again " UNDER OUR FALLEN FORT... OUR FORT, YOU KNOW AS IN YOU AND ME." Then she ran off into the bushes and into a thorny patch so that William and Eric would not follow her.

PAGE 10

Colleen had a feeling inside of her that felt awful, and somehow she thought it had to do with the boys. So she ran and she ran as far as she could to get away from them.

PAGE 11

But when she finally stopped to rest she did not recognize anything around her. She searched for a path or for a familiar tree or Rock but it was all new to her, surely she was lost.

PAGE 12

It was starting to get dark and cold, she could see the grudges breath as he panted. "We'll have to stay here tonight, we can look for the path home in the morning".

PAGE 13

They found a large hallowed out tree and crawled inside and cuddled up together. That night she was restless and could not stop thinking about how William and Eric had betrayed her.

PAGE 14

When she awoke the next morning she noticed her Grudge was no longer in her arms. She looked about and then noticed that she was surrounded by long white Fur. Somehow in the night, her Grudge had grown, it was now so large now that it nearly filled the inside of the tree.

PAGE 15

Astonished, she searched through the soft mess of fur and found it's big black eyes. She could feel it breathing deeply, it made low grumbling noises as it breathed in and out. GRUDGE... GRUDGE...

Page 16

Colleen walked alongside the large grudge as it's massive body snapped limbs from the trees on either side of them. Colleen still had an awful feeling inside of her and felt as if her only friend in the world now was her giant GRUDGE.

Page 17

Colleen wanted so badly for the feeling she had to go away. She thought maybe if she and the grudge played together, the way she and Willam used to, that perhaps she would feel better. So she climbed on the grudges back and kicked his side with her heels.

PAGE 18

The grudge leaped forward and charged through the dense forest. He slid across logs and dove down, sliding through wet ferns.

PAGE 19

Colleen laughed and screamed and clung to the wild creature as he lept and galloped. He moved rapidly through a small creek and towards a drop off where a small waterfall trickled to a pool below. He lept downward, she grabbed his fur in her fists and held on for dear life as they plummeted.

PAGE 20

They splashed down together into the pool, underwater she watched as his fur swayed in the current, at this moment she felt alive.

PAGE 22

They laid together on a giant rock, a window of sunlight shown down upon them. But still, inside all she could think of was William and Eric and the fun they were probably having together. Again her body felt tense and her blood ran hot in her veins.

PAGE 23

She nudged the grudge but he was in a deep sleep, she grabbed a stick and poked at him. Finally, he grumbled and his eyes opened.

PAGE 24

The grudge lifted up and puffed out his chest, he looked angry at her. Colleen exclaimed, "IT'S ME GRUDGE." Just then he let out a giant ROAR that sent Colleen flying backward into the brush below. She tumbled to a stop and then realized that she needed to find an escape.

PAGE 25

She ran for her life through the thick undergrowth and made her way into a clearing. As she ran she could hear the gallop and deep breathing of the grudge pursuing. GRUDGE...GRUDGE... GRUDGE...

PAGE 26

She ran into a large fallen tree, the angry GRUDGE reared up and crushed the decayed wood, Colleen slipped out as pieces of wood exploded behind her.

PAGE 27

She emerged from the tree and slid down a steep hill on moss-covered rocks. ahead of her, she could see a precipitous drop. She clawed and grabbed at the rock, just then the grudge barreled through knocking her loose. They tumbled downward together.

PAGE 28

CRASH, SMACK, BOOM they crashed through a small wooden structure collapsing it to the ground. Collen landed safely on the fluffy fur of the now unconscious grudge.

PAGE 29

Colleen emerged from the cloud of dust to find William and Eric standing in front of her... "Our fort, what did you do to our fort," William said.

PAGE 30

Colleen turned around looking at the broken structure, her grudge was nowhere to be found. Then from the dust, two new small grudges emerged.

PAGE 31

"What is that?" asked Eric. Colleen knew exactly what it was, she said "whatever you do, don't try and hold them"

The end.
